1971年、マニラのフィリピン文化センターのロビーで初演された作曲家ホセ・マセダのマルチメディア・パフォーマンス作品。カセット・プレーヤー（近年はMP3プレーヤーで代用）を手に、100人の参加者がシンプルな振り付けをもとに、民族楽器の演奏や声が録音されたテープを再生しながら空間の中を回遊する。社会とアートの関わりを重視した活動を模索するパフォーマンス集団ANTIBODIES Collectiveの東野祥子とカジワラトシオが振付・演出を担当する。KAATのアトリウムの巨大な空間に、辺境に追いやられた民衆の生活に基づく精神・信仰・儀式世界の現代空間への介入を試みたマセダの代表作が再現される。

Cassette 100 is a large-scale multimedia work by composer José Maceda, premiered in the lobby of the Cultural Center of the Philippines in 1971. One hundred participants moved throughout the space with a cassette (recently MP3) player in hand, playing recordings of indigenous Filipino instruments and voices. This performance will be choreographed and staged by Yoko Higashino and Toshio Kajiwara, leaders of the ANTIBODIES Collective, which explores the socio-cultural significance of performance art. In the spacious atrium of KAAT, Maceda’s signature piece, which attempted to bridge the ritual and spiritual world of indigenous Phillipines with the contemporary, will be realized again.

1990年代後半より舞台芸術から音楽、クラブカルチャーまで様々なシーンにて作品を発表。2000〜14年「Dance Company BABY-Q」を主宰。2015年に「ANTIBODIES Collective」をカジワラトシオと結成。国内外の劇場やフェスティバルでの公演は55都市を超える。また、ダンサー育成のワークショップや学校へのアウトリーチ、ダンサーとしての音楽家や映像作家との即興パフォーマンスにも定評がある。トヨタ コレオグラフィーアワード、横浜ダンスコレクションなどで受賞。2016年よりセゾン文化財団シニアフェロー。全日本ダンストラック協会会長。
Yoko Higashino started working in diverse scenes including performing arts, music and club culture in the late 1990s, and led “Dance Company BABY-Q” from 2000 to 2014. In 2015, she formed “ANTIBODIES Collective” with Toshio Kajiwara. She has performed at theaters and festivals in more than 55 cities across the world. Her workshop for dancers’ training, outreach activities for schools and improvisation as a dancer with musicians and visual artists have established reputation, and she has received awards at such occasions as Toyota Choreography Award and Yokohama Dance Collection. A Senior Fellow of The Saison Foundation since 2016. President of Japan Dance Truck Association.
カジワラトシオToshio Kajiwara
1990年代初頭にニューヨークでターンテーブルやテープを駆使した即興パフォーマンスを始め、クリスチャン・マークレーとトリオを結成し世界各地をツアー。また、13年間に渡りニューヨークの老舗中古レコード店に勤務し、自主企画レーベル／パフォーマンス・シリーズ「Phonomena」などを通して埋没した歴史的音源の発掘や再評価の運動にも貢献。現在は京都を拠点に「ANTIBODIES Collective」を結成、コラボレーションによる総合的な創作、その社会的な役割と可能性を探求。2016年には中古アナログ専門店「ヒト族レコード」を開店。即興演奏家、DJとしても活動している。
Toshio Kajiwara started improvisation performance using turntables and tapes in New York in the early 1990s and formed a trio with Christian Marclay that later toured across the world. Working at an old used record store in the city for 13 years, he contributed to the rediscovery of forgotten historical recordings through his independent label / performance series “Phonomena.” Currently based in Kyoto, he has formed “ANTIBODIES Collective” to explore collaborative network between artists and engineers that should contribute to larger social and educational structures. He opened a used analog record store “Hitozoku Record” in 2016 and has been active also as an improviser and DJ.
