今年のTPAMディレクションでご紹介するエコ・スプリヤントの『ソルト』は、5年以上をかけた三部作の締めくくりとなる作品です。インドネシアの離島ジャイロロのアマチュアの若者たちと作った一作目『Cry Jailolo』は、ジャイロロの観光キャンペーンの一環として始まったプロジェクトでしたが、この三部作は、エコがその後「サイレント・ツーリズム」と総称することになる環境破壊、ジェンダーと伝統、農耕文化と海洋文化、重力とヒエラルキーといった問題系をめぐって展開することになりました。サイト・スペシフィックなプロジェクトとして始まったにも関わらず6ヵ国／地域を巻き込んだ共同製作に発展するなど、アジアのコンテンポラリーダンスにおける国際共同製作の新しいモデルともなっています。このトークでは、振付家自身がこの長期的プロジェクトの経験を共有し、彼と彼の若いコラボレーターたちが通過してきた成長と変化を振り返ります。
Salt by Eko Supriyanto, a program of the 2019 TPAM Direction, is the final piece of a trilogy on which the choreographer has worked over five years. Cry Jailolo, the first piece of the trilogy that he created together with non-trained young people of the remote island Jailolo, started as part of the island’s tourism campaign but began to evolve around what he later called “silent tourism,” a concept that has encompassed awareness of the environmental crisis, gender and tradition, the agricultural and the maritime, or gravity and hierarchy. Starting as a site-specific project and later involving six countries/regions, the trilogy has also been a new model of international co-production of Asian contemporary dance. In this talk, the choreographer shares the experience of the long-term project and reflection on the development and changes that he and his young collaborators have gone through.

エコスダンス・カンパニーの設立者／芸術監督。インドネシアで彼の世代を代表するダンサー／振付家。自身の作品の他、商業的プロダクションやダンスリサーチのプロジェクトまで活動は幅広い。近年の代表作『Cry Jailolo』は絶賛され、ヨーロッパ、日本、オーストラリア、シンガポールをツアーした。それに関連して、『The Future of Dance is Under Water』と題してサイレント・ツーリズムとパフォーマンス・リサーチの活動を行なっている。
Founder and artistic director for EkosDance Company, Eko Supriyanto is the leading Indonesian dancer and choreographer of his generation. His performance career spans major works, commercial productions and dance research projects. Cry Jailolo, Eko’s most recent major work received great acclaim and extensive tours throughout Europe, Japan, Australia and Singapore. In connection to this work he has developed a discourse on “Silent Tourism” and performance research entitled The Future of Dance is Under Water.

PARC – 国際舞台芸術交流センター 理事長、TPAM – 国際舞台芸術ミーティング in 横浜 ディレクター、舞台芸術制作者オープンネットワーク（ON-PAM） 副理事長。2003年、ポストメインストリーム・パフォーミング・アーツ・フェスティバル（PPAF）を創設、PME-ART、フォースド・エンタテインメント、メゾンダールボネマ、ホテル・モダンなどを日本に紹介する。TPAMと併設してIETMアジア・サテライト・ミーティング（2008、2011年）、アジアの制作者を集めた「舞台芸術制作者ネットワーク会議」（2009年）を開催。2012年にはフェスティバル「サウンド・ライブ・トーキョー」を創設。
President of PARC – Japan Center, Pacific Basin Arts Communication, Director of TPAM – Performing Arts Meeting in Yokohama and Vice President of ON-PAM – Open Network for Performing Arts Management. Established the Post Mainstream Performing Arts Festival (PPAF) in 2003 and introduced such groups as PME-ART, Forced Entertainment, MaisonDahlBonnema and Hotel Modern to Japanese audience. In conjunction with TPAM, she held two IETM Asia Satellite Meetings (2008 and 2011) and Performing Arts Presenters’ Network Conference (2009) gathering Asian presenters. In 2012, she established a festival Sound Live Tokyo.
