Since autumn 2015, ttu has been producing a series of works that “embody the city”. Shoes to Fill in Shin-Nagata documented the duo’s creative stay in a shoe factory in Kobe; The 3 O’Clock Suite presented sketches and dialogues based on a coffeehouse in Shinagawa, in collaboration with illustrator Natsumi Tsuchida. This latest work is inspired by a short play set in Tokyo titled meeting body, written by playwright Daisuke Kishii. Taking a disused house in Yokohama, ttu creates a vision of Tokyo developing into a city, through dialogue between countless people.

ttu is a drama unit consisting of director Mami Yamada and producer Ayami Masunaga, whose concept is: “Can you see something that can’t be seen?”. The duo designs drama performances that integrate their material with their venue, and turn on hidden switches in everyday life. The duo bases their creative practice in the “Install Know Tochuda Building” in Nakanobu, Tokyo.
In May 2013, ttu received the Grand Prize in the creative competition “Let’s Talk about Producing a Drama from Scratch, vol.4”, organized by FFAC at the Fukuoka Engeki Festival.
