Motoi Miura, who has been continuously reflecting on “modernity” through his long work on Chekhov, approaches “post-war” Japanese history, modernity and contemporariness in this new creation inspired by Osamu Dazai’s novels including “Tokatonton” (The Sound of Hammering) and “Shayo.”

A dance performance by KINOSHITA・KABUKI that transforms kabuki, the Japanese traditional theatre, into contemporary theatre. The traditional repertoires “Sambaso” and “Musumedojoji” are revived as dance pieces.
