Introducing the latest sound art of artists who are focused on using unique methods to transform electronic and digital technologies into sound. Performances use originally created devices and systems to explore the generation and communication of sound and which demonstrate the possibilities of yet another form of musical expression.

TSUNODA Toshiya
Born in Kanagawa Prefecture in 1964, he graduated from and completed research at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, Fine Arts Department. Using field recordings which capture the sensation of sound as a starting point, he is actively re-defining the atmospheric forms which reveal our experiences. In 1994, he established the label 'WrK' together with Sato Minoru (m/s) for the purposes of art production, and has released solo CD s on the overseas lable 'Hapna', and participated in other compilations.

SAWAI Taeji
Born in 1978. The 'sound' of our multi-functional daily existence is supported by various information systems. By dividing the generally recognized sound of the 'perceptible sound wave by hearing' and 'perceptible vibration through sense of touch', he is exploring the possibilities of Auditory Design. Through amplifying, developing, constructing and mixing the unconsciously experienced daily environment. He works to expand our perception and organs of perception.

HORIO Kanta
Born in Hiroshima in 1978, using computer interface and motors, and electric magnet among other things, he combines kinetic environments to create various devices of his own invention. Using the sound created from these devices, he presents his pieces at live performances. Presently he is an assistant at the Tokyo Polytechnic University, Faculty of Arts.

YANAGISAWA Marina
Graduating from the Tama Art University, Interaction Design department, she performs her own pieces with her self-invented instrument called 'Howlin' which uses pure feedback without sound sources, effectors or transmitters. She showcased at 'Intercollege 2004'.

Born in 1968 in Tokyo, he is a curator at NTT intercommunication center. He has planned 'Sound Art - Sound as media' (2000), 'Sounding spaces' (2003), 'n_ext - new generation of media artists' (2004). With a focus on sound art, he plans concerts and events, and write about art and music.
