Director : ITO Atsuhiro [Fine artist / Art school lecturer] |

While individual motivations and circumstances may differ, those artists not afraid to take risks and experiment with an adventurous spirit have always existed. The artists selected to perform in this event are fighting for today through their un-categorizeable and unique music. Each will perform their best work to date. "Alternative" or "avant garde" does not stand for any genre. It is means "battle".

ONDA Aki
A musician, photographer, and writer, Onda will show the incomparable graphic and poetic quality of his unconventional works. Projects in progress include 'Cassette Memorie's, in which tape recorded "memories" are played like a diary, and 'Cinemage', where slide projected "memories" and musical improvisation are combined. Onda currently lives in New York.

AKIYAMA Tetuzi
Akiyama has been exploring a method to computerize the human body from micro to macro by sensitively and boldly controlling its sound volume. His distinctively nuanced primitive and objective performances minimally and directly affect the specific instrumental quality of his guitar. 'Route 13 to the Gates of Hell: Live in Tokyo' (HEADZ) is his latest solo album.

OPTRUM
Optrum is a roaring and extreme optical noise-core band made from Shin Yoichiro's drums with an anomalistic hard-core punk style approach, and Ito Atsuhiro's self-made visual sound device OPTRON, which outputs amplified noise together with the glow of fluorescent lights. While not kind to the eyes and ears, this live performance of amelodic instruments is like no other.
